Hijos de Estévez: Over a century of tradition in Granada lamps

When we mention the lamp in Granada, we cannot forget that there have been almost eight hundred years of Arab presence in our city, a fact that has marked the origin and influence on Granada's craftsmanship, the themes, the tastes and the evolution of popular art, proof of which is the ESTÉVEZ lantern workshop, founded in 1911 by master Pedro Fernández Estévez on Granada's Calle Elvira.

Currently, the workshop is located at Calle Buensuceso 37, and after being run by his children for decades, his grandchildren now continue to do so. Successors of the founder work together as a single team devoted to the old family tradition. With good specialization and artistically combining glass and tinplate, and being able to use more noble metals such as brass, copper or nickel silver, lanterns, wall lights, mirrors, ceiling lights, stained glass and decorative elements are born in the hands of the artisans, with unique geometric shapes, maintaining sobriety and traditional style, and in some cases opening windows to contemporary styles.

Most of the objects are dedicated to decoration, and especially the section related to lighting. All items are handmade, and adaptations or new elements can be made to order. In the HIJOS DE ESTÉVEZ artisan workshop, countless items have been made and continue to be made, illuminating and decorating rooms, which are spread across the five continents.
